Bullying at school serious factor behind student failure .

          Bullying  means  aggressive  behavior  to  hurt  or  cause  discomfort  to another  person.  Bullies  always  have  more  power  than  victims.   Their  power  comes  from  size,  strength,  status,  and  support  within  the  peer  group.

          Use  superior strength  or  influence  to  intimidate  someone and/or  force  them  to do  something, like to oppress. 
Bullying can be;

•  Name  calling
• Text  bullying
• School  bullying
• Verbal  bullying
• Cyber  bullying
• Physical  bullying

We  can  divide  bullying  into  three-

1. Physical  bullying

A  person  is  harmed  or  their  property  damaged.  Examples  are  slapping,  hitting,  pinching,  punching,  kicking

      2.  Verbal bullying
A  person's  feelings  are  hurt  through  insults,  name  calling,  and  spreading  rumors,  gossiping  and  homophobic  comments.

      3.  Social  bullying
A  person  is  excluded  from  the  group  and  events through  threatening  words  and  actions.

What  are  the  effects  of  bullying  at  schools ?

 Bullying can  lead  to serious  psychological  and  mental  health  and  suicide.  Bully  victims  are  between  2 - 9   times  more  likely  to  commit  suicide  than  non  victims according  to  studies done by  Yale  University.  Bullying  is  also  a  serious  problem  in  African  schools.  Prof. Nita  Corene  De  Wet  wrote about   Bullying   in  South  African  schools  now  I  am  writing  about  bullying   in  Tanzanian  schools.  I know  its  a  very  serious  problem  here  as  well.  Other serious  effects  of  bullying  are  as  follows-

• Sleepless  and  loss  of  appetite
• Poor  academic  performance
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Skip/withdraw from school
• Sadness/Loneliness
• Fear

 HOW  TO  STOP BULLYING

1. Most  school  programs  should  address  bullying  eg. cancelling
2. Students, Teachers  and  Parents  should  all  be  aware  of  how  serious  bullying  can  be  hindering education  success. Parents  involvement  will  make  the  program  meaningful  and  effective
3. Even  Teachers  are  being  bullied  in  classroom  setting ,  many  times  through  name  calling.  Help everyone  out  there  to  know  what  bullying  is  and  how  bad  it  is.

So  Bullying  affects  everyone and  it  takes  a  team  work  to  STOP BULLYING.

                 One  of  the  most  benefitial  aspect  of  teaching  is  building  positive  relationships  with  teachers.  Communication  is essential  for  child  to  be  successful.  A  good  and effective  relationship between  parents  and  teachers  is  vital  for  succesful  learning.  A  student  who  knows  that  the  teacher  communicates  on  regular  basis  with  their  parents  are  likely  to put  more  efforts  into  school.  Likewise a  student  who knows  that  the  parents  rarel  or  never  communicates  with  their  teachers  and/or  the parents  do  not  trust  the  teacher  will often  put  the  two  aganst  eachother.

                  As  a  childs  greatest  teacher  and  role  model,  it is  vital  that you get involved  in  their  schooling rather than  sitting back  and  letting  the  teacher  handle it  all.  Your  child   need  to  see the  impotance  that  you  as  a  parent  put  in  their  education  , though  make  sure  this  doesnt  translate  as  an  emphasis  on  always  having  to  come  first  or  being  top  of  the  class.

                   Parents  should  ask  teachers  for  ways they  can  help  at  home  that  can reinforce  any  learning  thats  going  on   in  classrooms.   Tell your children  what  you  expect  from  them  and make them  accountable.  Tanzanian  parents, remember  that  its  a  three  ways  relationship  between  you,  your  children,  and their teachers  and  that  only  by  working  together  positively  can  help   your  children  achieve  their  full  potential.

What motivate students to learn ?

            As Teachers,  Parents or  Students  motivation  is  very  important  in  the  teaching  and  learning  process.  However  motivation  does  not  always  roar . Students  find  it  difficult  to maintain  motivation  and  sometimes  they have a strong drive  for completing  school  tasks  but  they  will  often  give a positive  response  to  the  motivation.

Here  are  the  tips  to  help  boost  your   motivation.  Ask  yourself,  what  motivates  you  ?

1. Discover  your  mission  or purpose  ?

          2.  Be  hopefully  and  Optimistic.    < hopeful  and  confident  about  the  future  >

           3. Do  not  accept  fear.
                      _Fear  kills  motivation,   you  need  to   believe  that  your  efforts  will  lead  to  positive  achievements  in  your  academic  life.

            4. Love  to  ask  " why"
                              Maybe  your  level  of  motivation  is  low  because  you  do  not  have  enough  reasons  as  to  why  you  should  do  your  school  tasks. Asking  yuorself  why  will  show  you  how  significant  your  task is  towards  your success  in   your  learning  process.

             5.  Do  not  share  your  goals.
                             _Speaking  from  experiece  sharing  your  intertion  to  do  something  can  actually  kill  your  motivation  . People's words  will  make  you  feel  small   and  unable  to  do  things,  except  few  will encourage  and  tell  you  can   be even  better.  Look  what  Napoleon  Hill  once  said..

              6. Expect  setbacks  ,  challenges,  and disasters.. They  are  inevitable  and  part  of  life  of            everyone. Use  them as  a  chance  to  make  you  stronger, be  strong  and  keep  moving.
